The City of Swan is setting up one of its meeting rooms between Wednesday 14 March and Monday 19 March (lunchtime) to allow residents to take a virtual tour of the Midland Oval Redevelopment. 15 minute sessions are available by emailing HeartofMidland@swan.wa.gov.au
Mike Foley City of Swan Chief Executive Officer advised the tour would include Residential Park which will be a primarily green, landscaped space with relaxation and reflections zones, nature play and an edible landscape feature, forming an open and welcoming sanctuary for all visitors and residents. Residential Park could possibly have a tower of up to 10 storeys and be a mix of commercial development consisting of retail, food &^ beverage and office floor space.
Piazza and Juniper Links will be slightly bigger than Forrest Place in Perth. The city's website shows these precincts as urban, social, cultural and community focal point of the Midland New Junction. Juniper Link will include an urban lounge zone with play pieces and an outdoor chill-out zone. The Midland Piazza will feature lighting, artwork and a large event stage, which will be able to accommodate events and concerts for up to 1000 people.
Midland Park would become the new urban recreation ground , a place to meet friends, kick a ball, do some exercise or walk the dog.
